A Puppet From A Dream

When I was in Art School I had an odd dream. The dream was of a twisted Pinocio-styled character. The puppet is a goof, even a bit clumsy but, when threatened he turns into an absolute monster. Little does he know he is under the control of someone else. Someone with malicious intent, bent on using him as a weapon! I introduce you to…Monstro.

This a concept I wish to fashion into a comic book, when I have the time (someday).

Hero? Villain?

A Robot Influenced By History…

I love design and art from the 1930s-1940s, especially WPA posters and ads. “Loose Lips Sink Ships”, “Give ‘Em Both Barrels”, these are both classic poster slogans from the WPA design era. One of my favorites is Rosie The Riveter, the icon of the industrious women of the 1940s working the factories when the men were at war. Rosie is one of the greatest feminist and American symbols of all time.

When I like stuff, I pay tribute to it by parody. I never mean to make fun of the content, just re-imagine it in a comical or even wise-ass way.
